    Competition 1.4 V2 info

With the v2 release looming on the horizon I thought it might be a good idea to talk about what will be changing and what will be staying the same.

    what's staying the same

Modular wheel style consisting of front and rear barrel pieces pinching a flat spoke plate

    Black m1.6 hardware throughout

3d printed lock rings and hanger shells

Black anodized 6061 aluminum +4mm trip-hubs with optional 2mm spacers

Bolt spacing (this means that v1 spoke plates will work with v2 barrels)

    What is changing

Increased outer diameter- wheels are .5mm bigger overall.

Increased inner diameter- for slightly bigger hangers

Front and rear barrel pieces will be milled from 6061 aluminum and hard anodized in 5 colors (Onyx, Oro, Sapphire, Emerald, and Amethyst)

Spoke plates will laser cut from 1.6mm 6061 aluminum sheet and hard anodized in 3 colors (Onyx, Oro, Argentum).

Aluminum spoke plates will be available in Mono, Haze and Outlaw

There are also a limited number of  faces cut from gold fleck forged carbon. These will be available in a new 4 spoke pattern called Synapse

Hangers have been adjusted to move the weight lower but are still 25g/side

Lock rings have been redesigned- enlarged to fit new OD and beefed up a bit

The wheels will now be sold in two parts.

Part one will contain both barrel pieces, lock rings, hanger shells, hubs, spacers, jig, and hardware. It will be $50

Part two will be the spoke plates. They will be $15 for aluminum or $20 for the limited carbon

If you buy one barrel kit and one set of spoke plates your cost will be exactly the same as the printed wheels youve been buying up til now

you can mix and match...you can buy as many spoke plates as you want...you can buy as many barrel sets as you want. have fun with it.

Pre release sales will begin on September 30 and end on October 5. Pre sales will ship on October 10 and all remaining stock will be available at that time.

Before this becomes a thing- these pieces are being produced overseas. I wish I could afford my own CNC (and have a place to put it) but that is not my situation. I will hand inspect every set before it goes out so quality will not be an issue.
